How the Rants started:

My first ad appeared in PassageMaker Magazine's premier issue.  I've advertised in every issue of the magazine since.  My early presence featured a conventional static ad (issue after issue). 

All that changed with the Summer 1998 publication. I don't really remember why, but I began writing little diatribes about whatever happened to be on my mind at the time. When I did, something unusual happened.  People began writing or calling me about my ad, whether they were interested in a boat or not.  I heard from builders, clients and friends.  Some tried to guess who I was talking about or what incident had prompted my little tirade.  It has been interesting.  I've never received fan mail for an ad before.
