Like you I’ve been poking about on the Worldwide Web now for a number of
years. Truly, it is both remarkable and disappointing. The idea of
communicating so simply with someone across continents is impressive:
the good news. The frustration of trying to sort out things of value:
the bad news. This dichotomy is a big part of my reluctance in throwing
my fortunes onto the WWW frenzy.
The other reluctance was simply the question whether I’d
be able to handle inquiries in a timely manner. I know when I log on to
ask a question, I’m expecting an answer right now. Still how many times
have you emailed even big companies only to have the messages disappear
into the ether, never to be heard of again? I have prided myself on
being accessible to all comers. And would like to keep it that way. Well
as they say "No guts no glory". So I’ve now launched a new web site. I
hope you will find it of some interest. Not just another catalog of
boats, I’ve tried to make the new site a destination worth
investigating. Yes there are pictures and drawings of my boats. There is
also, however, information about the design process, a typical complete
set of drawings, links to many of my favorite sites, and even a complete
catalog of these legendary mini-rants which pop up in each issue of
PassageMaker Magazine.
I’m expecting this new website to continue to evolve.
Soon articles that I’ve written will be available and even a
bibliography of books on my bookshelf that I have found useful will be
added. I hope that you will find what I’ve posted of value and not just
another "favorite" that gets saved, but never referenced again.
But that’s just my opinion.
